Duke's Kyle Singler scored 10 in last nights McDonald's All-American Game. (State's JJ Hickson looked like a Stud).
I've been thinking about this a bit. I really enjoyed this season where Duke wasn't dominant, could be beaten some, and even NC State finally gets a Duke win. But break is over. As a real ACC Fan, I've come to realize we need Duke. We need Duke to be powerful. To make truly strong showings in the NCAA tournament, we need both Duke and Carolina to be 1 or 2 seeds, to be locks for the Sweet 16, and for both to at least have a shot at making final four runs. Sure, every two or 3 years someone else can pop up with a strong team, like Maryland or GaTech in years past, hopefully like State will soon, but for March Madness to truly be fun all the way to the end, we need a strong Duke to match what I expect to be a strong Carolina for years to come.
