The First Game is History... So is Clemson.

FSU 67 - Clemson 66

Al Thornton hit one of two free throws with 1.5 seconds left to advance the Seminoles to a quarter-final meeting with the top seeded Tarheels. Thornton finished with 25 points and 11 Rebounds. Clemson could not get a good shot off at the horn. It looked like KC Rivers played good "D" on FSU's last possession, but he was whistled for a questionable foul when Thornton fell while trying to drive.

Clemson can go ahead and plan on hosting an opening round NIT game.

FSU won their 20th game of the year, but I believe they still have some work to do to be invited to the NCAA Tournament.
