The Madness Continues…

Brandon Costner’s 30 Points Leads Pack to 85-80 OT Win Over Duke.

NC State 85 - Duke 80

The tough luck continued for the top seeds in the first round of the ACC Tournament as tenth seed NC State knocked off seventh seed Duke. Earlier in the day FSU defeated Clemson and Miami stunned Maryland.

Engin Atsur played the second half of his life, scoring 21 second-half points in what could have been is last collegiate game had the Pack lost. Atsur’s last second tip of an errant Courtney Fells jumper almost ended the game at the end of regulation.

State jumped out to a 73-70 lead at the 4:22 mark in overtime on a Costner lay-up and free-throw after a Josh McRoberts foul. Duke cut the lead to 75-74 on a power-dunk by McRoberts at the 3:18 mark, but the Pack was able to come up with several key stops down the stretch.

NC State's last tournament win against Duke came in the 1997 quarter-finals when the eighth seeded Wolfpack stunned the top seeded Blue Devils.

The Wolfpack will play second seed Virginia on Friday.

wow, what a game. I just knew they were going to blow it, but I guess that is a natural hangover from the Sendek era.
