Cooter Arnold suspended

Mostly posted for a handful of loyal readers who saw Cooter run over everyone while playing at Davie High School. He wasn't big enough to make it at RB in the ACC, but still looked to have a lot to contribute.

Cooter Arnold suspended at UNC

Cooter Arnold, a North Carolina football player, has been suspended indefinitely for a violation of team rules, school officials said today.

Arnold is a junior from Mocksville and played at Davie County High School.

UNC did not identify the rule Arnold violated. Kevin Best, UNC's football sports information director, said that Arnold was not arrested but could provide no further information.

Arnold is a 5-10, 190-pound free safety. He was listed at the No. 3 position at free safety on UNC's depth chart for Saturday's season opener against James Madison.

He played in 12 games last season and started twice. He had 48 tackles and recovered a fumble in UNC's 3-9 season.
